Chayil

"Who can find a chayil woman, for her price is far above rubies?" -Proverbs 31:10

Chayil is the ministry/mentoring program developed for women of all ages in The Community. The name, chayil, is the Hebrew word translated in the Old Testament in a number of different ways, including force, army, valor, strong and virtuous. The word in Proverbs 31:10 translated as “virtuous” is chayil . This chapter describes a strong woman of substance, depth and great character, the epitome of what TC women aspire to be.

Chayil is based on the principles of leadership, impartation, shepherding, mentoring, and personal connectivity and is developed on the premises of the younger embracing the mentoring of one who is older and the older accepting the responsibility for the spiritual development of those who are younger (Phil 2:22; Titus 2:4-5).

The purposes of Chayil are:

  • To build a sense of community among the women in TC;
  • To teach and impart Biblical truths for practical application, especially as it pertains to the lives of women (based on the principle in Titus 2: 4-5 – “These older women must train the younger women…”).

Chayil is led by Diane Schultz, and meets on the second Friday night of each month at 6:30 p.m. in someone’s home. The style of teaching varies depending on the subject/need/leading, but always it is based on the principles in the word of God. For directions to the meeting, or for more information, please call Diane at 479-871-6807.
